A Tuscan tour to discover Pecorino Toscano PDO
Tuscany has the scent of nature and its flavors for a group of American journalists. They are the protagonists of Pecorino Experience, a new press tour promoted by Pecorino Toscano PDO Protection Consortium to discover the places Pecorino Toscano PDO production. The suggestive tour stars from the Maremma coast and passing through Pisa and Siena. The guests will be immerse in the most beautiful areas of Tuscany among natural parks, hills, rural landscapes and beaches combining the knowledge of centuries-old traditions and quality food production.
When do we start? The tour during four days from 23th to 26th of June. Journalists arriving from the United States will be hosted in the Maremma Natural Park, a green oasis that stretches along the part of coast between Principina a Mare and Talamone. Participants will have the opportunity to discover the animal species that inhabit the park with carriage rides and excursions and admire the landscapes around the green oasis. The ‘four days jouney’ will also be a dip in the flavors of Tuscan tradition to learn the secrets of Pecorino Toscano PDO production in some of the cheese factories of the Consortium with the visit of a sheep farm and the traditional curing caves of Pecorino Toscano DOP. The route will unfold between flavors and territory to discover the places of art and the excellences that make Tuscany unique.
Cooking lesson with Pecorino Toscano PDO. The participants will be tested in the kitchen with the cooking lessons of chef Giuseppe Villani to stimulate their creativity and savor typical recipes and those ‘out of the flock’ from the unique taste of Pecorino Toscano DOP. The Pecorino Experience tour will end in Siena to get learn an historycal and cultural heritage of the city immersed in the atmosphere of the days preceding the Palio.
